v1.01 Final 11/04/99

1. Finally decided to release with original documentation and limited new docs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
v1.01 Final 09/11/99

1. Removed beta banners.
2. Revised documentation.
3. Released to beta team for final ok.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beta 14 - 09/05/99

1. Tweaked a few more things.
2. Not released to Beta team.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beta 13 - 08/28/99

1. Fixed the CRC routines.
2. Added in an optional/different set of delay routines. This may or may not
make any difference with how the timing of game works in multitasking
environments. To use the new delay routines, create a file named
"usenew.del" and place it in the GB directory.
3. Just a reminder since there is one new Fkey feature:
    a. F3 shows if the BALLSPD.CTL was used or not.
    b. F4 shows which GUTTERx.CTL was used when the game loaded.
    c. F5 shows if you are using the original or new delay processes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beta 12 - 08/27/99

1. Decided to get really serious and set my BBS back up for remote testing.
That sucked since I had in all set up on my Netware Server which made
mapping across my network consistent. I moved it to another machine that
is set as a peer (since I didn't want my server running). Now I
understand all the grief and setup hassles that newbies to networking
have been having over the years. Thank goodness for the UNC paths.
2. Different compiler again. Now using the Borland Pascal for Windows and
compiling a real mode target. This is the same as Turbo Pascal except
    the IDE is GUI.
3. Finally fixed the chat. While remote testing, I noticed that if the
caller typed first, the chat worked, but if the sysop typed first, it
    got all screwed up.
4. Removed hundreds of lines of useless code and dozens of useless variables
from DDPLUS. Well, they appeared useless at the time and as far as GB
is concerned it won't make any difference.
5. Found a feature in the GUI IDE that made it easy to view global constants.
I got rid of the redundant ones. Doesn't appear that I broke anything.
6. Compiled with the CRC checking this time, so no more hex editing the
    executable! <g>
7. Fixed a few more places that the screen would clear with light gray
instead of black like it was supposed to be doing.
8. Making recommendation to beta team that this is the last beta.
9. Still waiting to see if Robert can recall his voodoo magic and revise
    the hardcoded external screen objects.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beta 11 - 08/22/99

1. Fixed a bug in DDPLUS that either always existed or that I put there
    3 years ago.
2. Chat is re-enabled, I have no idea if it works.
3. Fixed some screen clearing issues.
4. Switched back to Turbo Pascal.
5. Implemented yet another CRT unit fix for dealing with the PII runtime error.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beta 10 - 08/14/99

1. Disabled the internal chat since I can't fix it.
2. GUTBOWL will create the MSGDELAY.CTL if it doesn't exist.
3. Started rewriting the documentation and now I can't find it.
4. Enlisted third beta tester.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beta 9 - 07/04/99

1. Removed alot of overhead with regard to data stuctures.
This GUTBOWL.EXE will NOT work with earler PLAYER.DAT Files

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beta 8 - 06/27/99

1. Revised the displaying of the comments
2. Added the MSGDELAY.CTL to delay the comments to your liking.
Without this file the default delay of 2000ms is used. Lower the number,
the faster the comments will display, higher number will be slower. Look
at the file and it will make sense.
3. Changed the following important things:

    BALL-SPE.EED is now call BALLSPD.CTL

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beta 7 - 06/27/99

1. WWVI now shows as WWIV in GUTCFG.EXE
2. I have updated all the screens to reflect copyright info and soforth
by manually doing new screen writes over the old hardcoded (via external
    objects) screens.
3. Fixed that frigging awsum d00d thing bug!<g> Try
GUTBOWL /L /M99 to check fix
4. Fixed Display bug that occured sometimes with makeup day/high
    scores menuing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beta 6 - 06/24/99

Beta 6 unleashes two undocumented features.

1. Press F1 for the help screen. F3 will show you if the BALLSPD.CTL
was read or not and what the current settings are as well as the users
connected rate. F3 will clear that info.
2. Same as above, except press F4 and it will show which CTL file was read.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beta 5 - 06/23/99

1. Found work around for randomization routines.
2. Switched to Borland Pascal and tried a different CRT fix for the PII bug.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beta 4 - 06/22/99

1. Fixed Make up Days prompts.
2. Discovered problem with randomization routines.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beta 3 - 06/20/99

1. Fixed the prompts so that you can see what you type.
2. Removed some of the "future use" stuff.
3. More screens say unregged, so that we can determine status.
4. Tried fixing that bill the cat status line problem, no luck yet.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beta 2 - 06/19/99

1. Fixed it so it worked in color on PII computers!<g>
2. Recompiled GB with the reg routines removed. I forgot all my hooks and
forgot what the heck I did when I developed them all. GB worked just as
good as if used it its original form with boneheads crack.
3. Started over again since the code was really screwed at this point.
4. Robert decided to release free reg keys for GB provided a valid reg
    form was sent via email.
5. Enlisted second beta tester.
6. Made announcement about beta testing in Fido DoorGames and got ZERO
    response.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beta 1 - 05/22/99

1. Fixed it so it ran on PII computers
2. Enlisted our first beta tester.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pre-Beta - 05/18/99 to 05/22/99

1. Found a crack for GuTTeRBoWL on the Net. A half assed crack too.
2. Discovered GB didn't work on PII computers while trying the crack.
3. Wrote a message to the author of crack congradulating him on getting
around part of my routines and told him his cracked sucked.
4. Got in touch with Robert after an 18 month loss in communication and
    sent him the crack.
5. I decided to get GB to work on PII computers.
