Another Cheepware production!

===================================

TGShort is a simple program, so it's got simple documentation.

If you are not running Telegard BBS software (or if you don't know what
a BBS is), you do not need nor can you use this program. This program
will work on Telegard v3.09+ systems ONLY!

There are two EXEs in this archive: TGSHORTW is for Win32 systems and
TGSHORTP is for OS/2-eCS systems. Both programs are 32-bit.

Quick license and disclaimer: this is a free program, meaning you can use
it for free, but the program remains my property. Reverse engineering of
any kind is illegal and quite frankly, if you can't figure out how to write
this simple of a program, you're a moron and you shouldn't bother trying
to be 'leet and rip me off. If you are running a pay ("for profit") BBS,
you may not use this program, period. This program works just fine on my
machine and if it doesn't work on yours, sorry. I'm also not responsible
for any problems this program may cause and there is no guarentee of
anything working or not working related to this program.

TGShort will allow you, the Telegard sysop, to put messages into SHORTMSG.DAT
from the command line. I use this program for making sure that my nightly
maintenance file always runs and that my once-a-week and once-a-month batch
files/programs are working by inserting a like into SHORTMSG.DAT. If you
don't know what SHORTMSG.DAT is, it's a file TG creates for the sysop and is
displayed when you log in. Normally, if you write someone a private mail and
they read it, the acknowledgement will show up in SHORTMSG.DAT and if you do
a full logon, you'll see this during the logon.

In order to use TGShort, you have to put it in the same directory as
SHORTMSG.DAT (normally x:\TG\DATA). TGShort assumes that SHORTMSG.DAT is in
the same directory and will simply bomb if there's a problem. The command
line usage:

(for Win32)
TGSHORTW "Message"

(for OS/2-eCS)
TGSHORTP "Message"

The message MUST be enclosed in double quotes and MUST be shorter than 156
characters or else it will be cut off.

If you forget, just type TGSHORTW or TGSHORTP at the command line will get
you a little help screen.

...and that's all there is to TGShort. I hope you find it handy and useful as
I do. If you'd like to find more of my Cheepware sysop utilities or my
freeware BBS doors, go to http://outpostbbs.net and click on the Cheepware
link. You may also FREQ CHEEP from 1:18/200@Fidonet or 618:618/1@Micronet.
If you run into problems, please email me at sean@outpostbbs.net or netmail
me at one of the above-mentioned FTN addresses.

Thanks for using TGShort and I hope you find it useful.
