In case you've been having problems finding the door games that were
here at The Board this is a brief explanation. The switch we made involved
switching the operating systems we ran. The games we ran before don't run
under this new operating environment so that's why you don't see them here
today. There is a DOS emulator that we will be using to run some of these
games but it might not work out. So far with the games we have tested, we
have had no problems running them locally. This doesn't mean that they will
operate correctly remotely but we will see. We will soon put a few games
online just for testing. Once the game has proven itself stable we will
start a new game for a permenant setup. If the game is buggy and we can't
work out the problems it will be dropped.
The operating system we now run is called Linux and there are
several games for it that can be played online. Most of them are RPG's,
which is good if you like role playing games but alot of people don't so
I'll keep looking for any other types that I can find.
CircleMUD is currently running here on The Board. This is a D-n-D
style game with alot more depth than you will find in any DOS game. If you
like role playing games or you have played MUD's before you should try this
one out.
Also we now have the ability to have internet games online. This
means you can play against opponents all over the world real time. I'll
post more info on this when I set some of them up.
