Hi, Michael. True, there are lots of other possibilities for "leeching",
other than true leeching. However, there is no way to detect an accident.
Scott has quite properly implemented protection against a possible abuse of
the BBS by users who are unethical enough to use this protocol software.
However, the situation is flagged for Sysop investigation. It does not
result in automatic vaporization of the user's record. You (the Sysop) can
respond to the situation in as arrogant or calm tones as is your personal
style.
I don't see any other rational way to handle the situation, unless you want
to go back to allowing your system to be abused...

Subject: Max2.01wb Bugs ?

Problem #1) Some users are having problems uploading with the Xmodem
and Sealink protocols. If an error occurs or the file already exists
on the system then the message that indicates an aborted transfer -
for whatever reason - it is never seen by the user. The message is
displayed, but without a pause before the FILE menus pops up. This
This may be caused by the default More <Y,n> prompt and not a bug -
just a problem. It would be helpfull to include more info about the
reason for the aborted transfer.
Problem #2) When a user's subscription expires the expiration file
is displayed, however; it appears to be displayed --- after Max has
dropped carrier and is never actually seen so far as i can tell.
Problem #3) When using the Bored editor in a .MSG type area the
delete line(s) command appears to work ... but when the msg is re-
listed, all the lines are still there. Also had random MEM:Errors
when paging back & forth in this type of area.
Thats it, everything else works like a champ! Thanks Scott, for your
excellent BBS. Can't wait to see the full-blown release...
 Tom
