The Action 1496 modem from Data Race operates in multiple
standard modes -- asynchronously from 1200 to 9600 bits per
second with every CCITT standard in between and synchronously
through leased-lines at the V.33 mode, when speed and automatic
connection are required.

There's even an automatic callback feature for those few times
when there's phone line trouble and you need to finish a file
transfer. When your leased line is interrupted, the Action 1496
will automatically use it's V.32 dial-up protocols and will
connect you at 9600 bits per second.

Other features include remote configuration and diagnostic so
that you can manage a modem network remotely from a central site
over a phone line.

Price: $1795; rack-mountable, $1745.
