there's a digital audio tape (DAT) storage drive from Tallgrass that works on
XTs, ATs, and PS/2s as well as on the Macintosh.
 
The FileSecure 1300 uses the HP/Sony Digital Data Storage (DDS) format to
store up to 1.3 gigabytes on cassette-sized cartridges and is available in
half-height 5 1/4-inch internal and small-footprint external versions. Average
access time is 20 seconds with 60-foot DAT tapes. And as defined by the
standard, the data transfer rate is 183K bytes per second.
 
A data compression option increases storage capacity to 2 gigabytes. Other
features include selective file backup and restore, file tagging, unattended
backup scheduling, modified file backup, command line and batch mode
operations, and network support.
