PictureWare says its PicturePower, an image-management database
system, supports 8514a and Super VGA boards and brings
photographic-quality image management to standard display boards.

PicturePower 3.1 lets you capture images with a video camera,
place them in databases and applications with text and numeric
data, transfer them among PCs, and print them. An expanded
database management system lets you query up to four fields using
seven possible comparisons (such as equals, greater than, and
less than).

PicturePower supports dBASE III Plus and any database or
application that makes calls to the C language. The program is
also compatible with the Kodak SV6500 Color Video printer,
allowing you to make a 4- by 5.2-inch color print.

Another version of PicturePower compresses Super VGA images to
reduce by as much as 1000 percent storage requirements for an
image. Called PicturePower-HC, it includes version 3.1 and a
hardware compression board.

PicturePower 3.1 runs on the IBM PC with 640K bytes of RAM and
a hard disk drive.

Price: $1995; LAN version, $2995; PicturePower-HC, $3900.
