With its introduction of the NetWare OS/2 Developer's Kit,
Novell claims it's the first LAN vendor to support the new 1.2
release of OS/2. The kit, a set of programming tools, lets you
write OS/2 client- and server-based applications.

The Developer's Kit comes with Novell's OS/2 requester, which
allows OS/2 workstations to access NetWare services. According to
Novell, the NetWare requester for OS/2 gives you transparent
connectivity between those OS/2 workstations and file servers
running NetWare 2.1 or higher. It supports standard OS/2 APIs
(Application Programming Interfaces) including named pipes and
NetBIOS network functions.

Once you've developed a network application with the OS/2
Developer's Kit, OS/2 users have complete access to NetWare
version 2.1x and NetWare 386 file, print, and communications
services. OS/2 applications can run on an application server
that's configured with just OS/2 and the NetWare Requester.

The Kit includes NetWare API documentation for OS/2 versions 1.1
and 1.2, the NetWare Requester for OS/2 1.2, and a pre-release
version of the NetWare Requester for OS/2 1.2. Also included are
header and import libraries for the NetWare OS/2 APIs.

Price: $495.
